The Newton Theatre (Sky PAC), a 501(c)(3) corporation, is dedicated to providing programs that educate, entertain and inspire all audiences regardless of ethnicity, age or income level.įunding has been made available in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through the State/County Partnership Block Grant Program, as administered by the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council.įunding has also been made available in part by private donors and local sponsors. We also hold drives to collect clothing and food for those in need, and pet food and supplies for local shelters. The Newton Theatre is proud to give back to our community, holding an annual Autism Awareness and Fundraising event, and other events to benefit Veterans and local schools. They offer classes, workshops, and performances to people of all ages in Sussex County. ![]() Drama Geek Studios is a non-profit community theatre group, based in Newton, NJ by the Newton Theatre. The Arts Academy serves students from 5 years of age and older, with acting classes, production workshops, choreography, visual arts and more. The Newton Theatre is a former Reilly and Hall movie theater originally constructed in 1924 that has been converted into a 605-seat performing arts center. The Newton Theatre Arts Academy opened in January 2018. Films are screened weekly, from classic, Indie and smaller films to current, acclaimed movies, like Oscar winners and contenders (Moonlight, La La Land, Lion, Hidden Figures, Manchester by the Sea), as well as event films like Rocky Horror Picture Show and film festivals. The Newton Theatre also shows movies on the biggest screen in Sussex County with an all new digital movie and surround sound system. Its historic charm and world-class entertainment make The Newton Theatre NJ Skylands' premier entertainment venue. Iconic performers such as Todd Rundgren, Judy Collins, Lyle Lovett, Kansas, Arlo Guthrie, David Cassidy, Jon Anderson, Clint Black, The Bacon Brothers, The Bangles, and The Glenn Miller Orchestra have all graced the stage.
