![]() "Regions with weaker economies will contribute to most of the expected sales decline, also amid continuing population outflow," it said. The major setbacks faced by Country Garden and Evergrande are further weakening a sector already damaged by the coronavirus pandemic and a broader economic slowdown in China.Īccording to Moody's, economically weaker cities are expected to experience the biggest drop in property sales. The company, which was still the largest property developer in China last year, has four times as many projects as Evergrande, whose shutdown of construction sites last year led to protests and monthly payment strikes. Had that not been repaid, the company would have faced the prospect of becoming the biggest Chinese real estate firm to default since rival Evergrande in 2021. Moody's added that credit stress at one of China's biggest property developers, Country Garden, had "amplified homebuyer risk aversion".Įarlier this month, the debt-laden developer narrowly avoided defaulting on two multi-million dollar interest repayments. Click on these and you either get a sub-menu carousel or go straight to the function you’ve selected. Roll over the messaging and organiser icons, and you'll also be shown if you have any unread messages, notes, tasks or events to look at. The main menu is a carousel of large icons which shows what each one does as you highlight the options in turn. Call and End keys take care of making voice calls. There are shortcut buttons on the top of the phone too for the camera and messaging options. Icon-labelled buttons in each corner allow you to backtrack or go straight to the main menu screen. Or you can use the four-way pad on the left side. You navigate the main menu control using a neat trackball on the right of the keyboard. You can call also use a virtual numberic pad on screen when the slide is closed. To type out phone numbers, as well as a row of number keys, there's a secondary keypad-style grid of numbers overlaid onto some of the letter keys. One gripe is the additional, alternative characters, all too small and too blue against the black keys, making it almost impossible to identify them in low-light conditions. With the screen up, the dinky keys are fine for tapping out text with your thumbs, though go carefully if you have thicker digits. We suspect the funky, Facebook-savvy target audience might just notice these shortcomings. But the camera is a 1.3-megapixel snapper – real entry-level stuff in late 2007 – which surprisingly doesn’t even do video recording. It does have a music player – supporting multiple file formats this time around, including MP3, AAC and WMA files included - and a hot-swappable Micro SD memory card slot. It’s not a 3G device, relying on quad-band GSM/GPRS/Edge connectivity. The Slide isn't exactly cutting-edge either. Previous Sidekicks have been criticised on this side of the Atlantic for offering dated features. But the Sidekick isn’t meant to be a business or techie messaging device The Qwerty keypad is a vital part of the Slide's easy email, instant messaging and texting functionality, and also lends a hand to browsing on the device’s big-ish screen. The device is designed as a gadget for young people to stay in touch via email and IM as they zip around town, surfing and networking as they go. It measures 117 x 61 x 10mm and weighs around 156g, so has the size and feel of a PDA rather than a phone. The Slide may be smaller and more compact than the handbag-sagging 182g Sidekick 3, but it’s still no slimline pocket-pleaser. T-Mobile's Sidekick Slide: 25 per cent smaller than previous models It still has the Sidekick-style Qwerty keypad hidden under a moving 2.4in, 320 x 240 pixel (QVGA) display, though this time the screen simply slides up rather than slide-and-swivelling into place. ![]() It’s 25 per cent smaller than the previous models, and slimmer too – addressing one of the most obvious turn-offs of its too-chunky predecessors. The Slide is the first of the series to be made by Motorola rather than Sharp. But, despite several attempts by T-Mobile to propel the Danger-designed device into the mainstream, it has so far failed to get Britain's youth ditching their Nokias and Walkman phones en masse. Review Whenever the Sidekick is mentioned, the phrases “big in the States” and “Paris Hilton” inevitably follow. In response, developers have stepped up the creation of numerous solutions. Complimentary beer and wine and great views of Bluffton and of course, the sun setting. On the lake there are sunset cruises from 5:30-7:00PM (check times) and we loved it. If you are a golfer, you will enjoy the historic golf club and course. Other restaurants include Canoe Club (overrated, dark and disappointing) and Cole's (barbecue joint that is very busy (make reservations in advance at all restaurants) and has very good food. The square is also home to one of the best restaurants, Buffalo's, and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (weekends features live music outdoors). They have three giant fire pits, one with chairs to hang out and enjoy. The main town square is where the fun is including complimentary nightly s'mores from 7-10PM. If you are staying in a private home, I recommend buying a gift card so you can use it anywhere as all the restaurants and services are owned by Montage. The main building features their main restaurant and bar, Octagon (very good and with both indoor and outdoor seating), spa, and shops. If you are staying at the hotel about half mile away, here is where you can find guest rooms in the main building but highly recommend a private cottage, most with water views. This is also where the tennis courts are located. Very nice selection of wine, beer, snacks and even fresh tuna, filets and shrimp cocktail if you choose to cook. Upon entry, you drive past RT's market, the cutest little market for all your needs especially if you are renting a private home like we did. Palmetto Bluff is a private community (be sure to read the history before you arrive) and pretty much the Montage owns all of it except for the single family homes (they own the lots). If you are on the fence about trying this property, DO IT - you will not be disappointed. MPB is so close to Savannah Airport, and a super easy drive up to Charleston for a day or two on either end of your trip. I always think it's weird when people comment on employees at a hotel because it seems pretentious, but I would be remiss not to mention Richard (valet), Zulfira (front desk), and Firoze (rooms) who are all three so devoted and passionate about the property, it's contagious! They do not miss an opportunity to make guests feel welcome and spoiled. All dining options are outstanding, and housekeeping is impeccable (and I am very hard to please on that one.) The pool area is beautiful and has a great vibe, and our favorite on-property is electric bikes for miles and miles of safe and beautiful trails in and out of the residential area and golf course. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have every possible thoughtful detail and convenience, and we especially love the larger bathroom size. We loved it so much we came back two summers in a row! First, I should say that we live in coastal southern California, so we are lucky to have natural beauty on a daily basis, but there is something about the tranquility in this locale that draws us in. The best evidence of good rooting is new leaf or stem growth. According to Catholic religion, you should hold off taking down your Christmas tree until January 7. The additional water will make the flocking stick. Then, starting at the top of the tree, start shaking powder out of the strainer with one hand, while misting the flocking that’s falling with the other hand. After the first year of growth, the tree will become established and only require watering during dry months or drought. Fill your large strainer no more than half full of flocking powder. Christmas trees require relatively low maintenance after the first year of growth. You want good rooting to occur before you repot the plant wait at least eight to ten weeks before repotting to a permanent home. Water the tree during the dry months or during a drought. After several weeks, the stems should have roots at least 1 or 2 inches long and are ready to plant in potting soil (see step 3). Set the cut end in 1 to 2 inches of filtered water, then place the jar in a window with indirect light. Optionally, you can root the stems in water before planting them in the soil.Let the soil dry out between waterings.Water the plant well. To create a humid environment and encourage rooting, cover the plants and container with a clear plastic bag secured with a rubber band. Remove the plastic bag once rooting has started. It should take two to three weeks for roots to form. Three stems fit nicely into a 4-inch pot five stems in a 6-inch pot. Push the cuttings about an inch deep in the lightly moistened soil. Unlike some AI vendors, Vic.ai has the good fortune of occupying an industry that’s beginning to embrace automation. and EU data to comply with GDPR and makes an effort to discard personally identifiable information, he says. Data on the platform is retained for seven years, but Vic.ai maintains a “strict separation” of U.S. Hagerup says that Vic.ai uses the invoices that it processes for customers to improve the performance of its algorithms. The platform also determines the number of steps in an invoice approval process and automatically decides which employee needs to review each step. Vic.ai primarily handles invoice processing, leveraging the aforementioned algorithms to select invoices and expenses that meet a certain confidence threshold and automatically send them to approvers. This “live usage” helped to train Vic.ai’s machine learning algorithms over time, according to Hagerup, enabling it to provide nearly “complete autonomy” for transaction processing. The training data set contained accounting documents and corresponding journal entries that were reviewed by accountants at consultancy firms, including PricewaterhouseCoopers. Hagerup and Roil say that they built the first iteration of Vic.ai by training the platform on historical accounting data and processes from tens of thousands of public companies. Roil spearheaded the founding of Telipol, a wireless carrier in Norway that was later acquired by Hudya Group, a Nordic fintech company. Prior to co-launching Vic.ai, Hagerup founded the Online Backup Company, a European backup and disaster recovery service provider. Vic.ai was founded in 2017 by Hagerup and Kristoffer Roil, both Norwegian entrepreneurs. “‘AI’ has been a hot concept for many years, but large enterprises are just now getting to the point where they’re ready to adopt at scale, and they’re doing so with a focus on specific functions such as accounting and finance.” “In this next stage of growth, Vic.ai will capitalize on the market’s urgent need to automate other elements of finance by expanding its AI solution to manage and analyze all these tasks,” Hagerup told TechCrunch in an email interview. The new cash brings Vic.ai’s total raised to $115 million, which CEO Alexander Hagerup says is being put toward customer acquisition in North America and adding purchase order match, payment execution and “spend intelligence” capabilities to the Vic.ai platform. As something of a case in point, Vic.ai, which bills itself as an accounting automation platform, today announced that it raised $52 million in a Series C funding round led by GGV Capital and ICONIQ Growth with participation from Cowboy Ventures and Costanoa Ventures. That’s not suggest accounting-focused AI isn’t profitable - on the contrary. That’s perhaps why a number of startups have sprung up in recent years offering AI-powered products aimed at automating accounting tasks, like redacting sensitive info in paperwork and filing forms across different departments. AI is an imperfect technology, but one task at which it excels is identifying patterns in vast amounts of data. ![]() What can you do to improve Answer Bot accuracy?Īs a business user, you can alter the title of a help article along with the first 75 words to clarify a significant concept.
